About Us

My name is Angela, and my love for sewing started when I was very young, making clothes for my younger sisters dolls. I first started working in the industry at age 15 for a dress maker and was paid in experience and with sample clothing, which at the time was of greater value to me. From there I progressed to my first serious job where I became an apprentice at ‘Elena’s Leather Gear’ only working in fashion leather. Here I was taught how to make, alter, and repair all things leather and fur. I then moved to ‘Leather For Ever’ on Melbourne Street and later to ‘Walden Miller’ where I was for the last 30 years specialising in leather wear.

Throughout the years, I have honed my skills so that I can easily say The Travelling Seamstress are experts in repairing, restyling, shortening and remodelling all types of garments. I hope to meet you soon, Angela.
